Sandra Miller, MSW, LCSW

Are you overwhelmed with emotions, in conflict or consumed by past trauma? Do you avoid people or feel numb? Are you plagued by depression and anxiety? Do you self-medicate with alcohol, drugs, sex, gambling or food? If you answer “yes” to any of those questions, you likely will benefit from therapy. I start where you are and listen carefully. There is no psycho-babble, just pragmatic analysis of the patterns of thoughts, behaviors and emotions that keep you from living the life you want. You may not have caused your problems but with help you can address them.

I work with adults 17+ years with personality disorders, mood disorders, debilitating anxiety and PTSD. I also work with couples and families in conflict. I help clients cope effectively with life using a comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) program, including individual therapy and skills classes, as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Prolonged Exposure.

Before private practice, I worked with seriously mentally ill individuals of all ages, individually, in groups and as couples and families. In addition, I worked with adult women and men survivors of domestic and sexual violence, many with co-occuring addictions and mental illness. Now, I see clients at St. Louis DBT Wednesdays and Thursdays.
